Because it shows that people do have the ability to use their skills to do great things. Instead, you're wasting your ability on whining about this. The point in telling you that is to point out that this is pretty pathetic. Put it into perspective. You're whining about one little feature (out of thousands) from a mod for a computer game.

Clear enough for you?

Is that so Mr. Self Righteous? Why don't you try working a 24 hour day in a torrential downpour loading heavy equipment onto marine barges and amphibious vehicles in order to be sent to Operation Enduring Freedom? Why don't you get up at 5:30am, do physical training, be at work at 7am and then fulfill about 20 different tasks involving vehicle dispatch, vehicle maintenance, equipment inspection, battalion transportation, and then after working all day go to your second job? Why don't you go to Fort Ft. Hunter Liggett in rough mountain terrain and set up Comm_Wire to each tent in camp to ensure communications in the freezing cold, sit in a pit on watch for 6 hours in the freezing cold, and then perform security patrols for another 8 hours?  How about you listen to stories about how your best friend died in combat serving in Iraq? Do all of these things, and then you come to me and tell me that I am whining and don't use my abilities to do great things. You know nothing of using your abilities to do great things. I think I've done enough for everyone in this country to earn the right to ask for a little something.

Now, is that CLEAR enough for you?

I think the current strength of the Galaxy fits quite well to the show, compared to other vessels of its time, like the D'deridex. I will take a look again at the stats, but they seem to be okay.

The D'Deridex's strength currently outweighs the Galaxy in every category. Shields, health, shield rate, weapons, and special ability. The same for the Vor'cha, it's weapons are much more powerful than the Galaxy. In the show, the Galaxy was a match for a Warbird and the Vor'cha was smaller than the Galaxy but had equal firepower.  If StarFleet isn't building the Galaxy anymore because its old, then the D'Deridex and Vor'cha should no longer be being built by the same logic. I'd like to see the stats for the Galaxy be true to that of TNG and DS9 as I feel it is not balanced with the capital ships of the other races. I think 34 offensive value and 36 defensive value are reasonable suggestions. Having a Venture upgrade for the Galaxy is also another notable idea.

A Venture upgrade could be what it gets for the first officer rank (with a minor stat upgrade, obviously).

again to the fleet ops team, what time frame we talking bout, how long after the dominian war? cus i got to imagine the galaxy was used long after personally

Wait a sec, galaxy being equal in firepower to a warbird? If we're talking about the standard D'derix (Or however it's spelled) I thought that the Galaxy wasn't a match for it. I remember reading/seeing that the D'derix was larger and more powerful, but that it was slower. I'm pretty sure that a galaxy isn't a clear match for a D'derix...

Anyone got any factual (Of course...it's a TV show...) info on this?

In terms of firepower, I think the D'deridex Class is slightly more powerful.

well i think the galaxy has more weapons, i looked it up, but i cant seem to see which is better, but i seem to remeber that they were about equal, and a galaxy held of two warbirds in an episode

wow look at that more people want the galaxy class at the yard with no starts and saucer seperation then any other option, and way more just want saucer seperation no matter what. cool! B)

Fleet Operations takes place at the step to the next century, arround 2390-2395, 20 years after the Dominion War.

The Galaxy programm was already closed at the time the Dominion War happened. There were only few Galaxy Class vessels in service and a hand full of spaceframes that have been rapidly put together to make them "war ready" (without most of its civil interior like holodecks, labs and such).

Just for the time scale, the USS Galaxy began its first 5-year-mission arround 2360 (i think it was exactly 2360 but i'm not that sure).

Galaxy Class vessels are rare and Galaxy Class vessels are no longer in their production phase. That makes them ideal Warp-In vessels. And its nice for a player to get something popular from time to time, that makes the Galaxy Class feel special ^-^

if thats the idea... why not make them special, give them an ability like a deflector blast that disables ships weapons in a small AOE

Didnt that thing also disable the Galaxy for some time?

If you mean a blast like the one form Best of Both Worlds, I think it crippled Enterprise's Warp Drive & Main Deflector. Systems like Life Support, weapons, etc didn't seem to be effected.

20 years after?
ouch ... then the sovreign class will surely not longer be the best Fed ship ... just a thought :-)

That would likely be where the Descent & Prometheus come in.

yeah i agree with actium, most of the fed ships you have in there now would be outdated if you say the galaxy is, i personally disagree with you optec i think that it would have been produced long after, but if you say that its not then fine, but what about the akira? the defiant? they to would be gettng old, as would the intrepid, the feds might need a fleet overhaul, so i would suggest to put the miranda two, buildable at the shipyard that builds akiras for no stars, but thats just me, and look at the poll to, if you havent yet, but thats what most people think i guess
