Aye, the Excelsior-II is not the Lakota Refit. Its a complete new Design of Starfleet to introduce a new up-to-date alround ship (what the Excelsior was in her days). The good old Excelsior will come with the next patch as a new Warp-In vessel. The Lakota Refit will follow in later patches

cmon guys until now you have yet to give me evidence till now, and optect had now said they are new hulls, okay thats fine, but the galaxy is still a very powerful ship and it should be up there, as shown in the show, now optec thanks for responding to some stuff and i like the warp in stuff, but can you tell us your veiw on what we have been talking about the galaxy class, and caucer seperation, the polls show that people want spereation and for it to be built in a shipyard, and many people have supported that in the threads, but what do you say?

Rhaz was saying those are new hulls from the very beginning...
About what people want:Do you really hear only what you want to hear? I have never met anyone from your species before

yes i know he did, but i still found it a bit hard to belive that an excelsior could do that, dont take me wrong, i love the new miranda, i just wish it didnt cost starts and could be built at a normal shipyard, i listen to other people, but most of the other people have been giving no reference just making uop stuff, where as a few of us here have been looking it up in various ways, i am mostly talking to daton, when i say that people arnt looking things up because he and others have just been goin on about how the galaxy sucks

as ihave already posted in some topics, the Galaxy will stay warp-in as it is no longer build and there arent that many Galaxies in service - thats what warp-in vessels are: Oldies or rare ones, like the Steamrunner for example. The Excelsior will come with the next patch and the Ambassador is on todo, mor oldies to come. There will be a larger change to Warp-In with the next patch probably, underlining its situational character, instead of being just another type of yard.
I think the current strength of the Galaxy fits quite well to the show, compared to other vessels of its time, like the D'deridex. I will take a look again at the stats, but they seem to be okay.
Seperation won't be included as a military operation, aka special weapon. We are thinking about solutions for seperation that symbolize its "emergency case" character, but that will probably take a few patches as it requires new features we are currently working on. Just be patient, we are working on it

Here is an idea. If the ship is about to be destroyed add a chance of the ship seperating and the Saucer section being playable as a damaged ship after is destruction?

yep thats the idea

What will you do with the Saucer then? The crew is no longer an issue and even the biggest Galaxy supporters cant argue that the Saucer is any good in a fight....
So what, you decommision it?

It would still have one phaser and in a tight jam that one extra phaser could make a differance.

you keep your Exp-Level.
In this case it would be usefull to bring it back to a Fleetyard to get a new engineering part. Should cost some stuff but you have the chance to bring back a high level ship into fight.
Dunno if this is possible to insert...

hm, u would be right about the orgnial galaxy class, but it was said that all galaxy class ships in service get the "venture-upgrade" which makes the ship way stronger. Dunno if u think such things should make it ingame.
My Idea would be: Warp in a Standart Galaxy and make the "Venture-Upgrade" costs something

ok optec im getting a little bit confused, you seem that you are calling ships old that i consider to be quite new and in fact still state of the art, as the galaxy was during the dominian war and such, so i think it would help me and some of us to understand, you may have said this before, but what type of time frame we talking about, how long after the dominian war is fleet ops? 10? 20? 30? more? also i would like everyone to look at the poll, as now my favorite option is tied for first! lol, im sorry i just like the galaxy class, and old ships like the ambasador and constellation, and most of all i like the option to choose many types of ships for battle
