Oh holy crap!  I didn't even think to look at the non-ordinance file and see if the rate of fire was changed .

You see, Optec, Boggz is a smart fella, but he has a bad habit of missing very small and very crucial things :D.

Btw Optec,

I had asked for you to consider adjusting the targeting priority of mining stations so that vessels harassing mining don't waste their firepower on taking pot shots at the station instead of actually working on destroying the miners.  This especially hurts Romulans because they need to decloak and have all their firepower available.  Klingons also have trouble as the Kvorts and Brels end up wasting shots on a building that takes only 60% damage.

Can that be fixed for 3.1.2?

Well your video card is better,  with the monitor iam running , you should not have any problems. My monitor is running a little more juice, 1920x1080at 60 htz , yours is 1024x768at 85htz, so iam little dazed as to why yours is skipping at all.

aye it only does it when borg are present so im thinking it has something to do with there level of detail my card is a geforce 9400 gt but its not a straight nvidia its a evga so maybe its not as good of quality? anyway its not that much a slowdown not enough to make my not be or fight the borg  but noticeable and sometimes annoying

I have a XFX nVidia Geforce 6200 AGP, so my card is in the very low end of the video "foodchain". I have the same problems when Borg appear.

Reducing the graphics detail does nothing or very little.

I suspect it has to do with the amount of polygons used in the Borg ship models. In short, Borg ships from Assimilator up are too detailed for my graphics card, no matter the settings I have in graphics options.

i dont have a graphics card and my game works perfect with borg on highest detail level with the same screen resolution as windows. try some other housekeeping tasks to speed your puter up  ^-^

You don't have a graphics card? ???

I very much doubt it. I bet it's more like you are not aware you have a graphics card, much less of brand, model and chipset.

Even notebooks have graphics cards. It's integrated on the motherboard, but they do.

Otherwise, you wouldn't be able to even boot Windows or Linux, or whatever your OS is.

i know what a graphics card is thank you, i'm not an idiot

i have no graphics card, i have a graphics chip, its embedded into the motherboard.

they are different, embedded graphics chips are generally weaker.

my point is that even with my weak laptop i still run fleet ops so you probably need to clean your computer up (defrag/reg clean/kill some background aps/reformat etc)

Well, you had me thinking you had FO running on an ancient MDA-equipped computer.

Graphics chip or card, it doesn't matter. It's the chipset and the bus (regardless of if it's real or virtual) that makes or breaks the results.

If your "chip" is connected via a PCIe bus, your "chip" wins over my AGP card. If your chipset is a 6600 or higher, once more my card cannot hold a candle in processing power to your chip. Memory is not as important in that regard as processing power and bus speed.

its a budget computer so i really doubt it matches up to your dedicated card.

btw im using a gma 950 on a 945gm chipset.

my Windows Experience Index is 3.1 (too low to run halo 2  :crybaby:)

this computer is only a month old and i run multiple and various anti spyware programs and system cleanup utilities daily so its not a cluttered system. as i said other races work fine its ONLY when Borg are present. I run AOE III on full detail fine even EPIC battles and id think AOE III would be more detailed and graphic intensive than FO

actually... :whistling:

It may have to do with those virus scans.  I know on any computer, a heavy duty virus scan can slow it a bit, and those borg explosions take a huge toll on most computers.  The ships are very high poly.  I think you will see an improvement if you limit it to maybe one virus scan while playing, if any at all.

I know someone with a slower computer and he can't do anything when symantic is scaning. :sweatdrop:  Now if your computer is only a month old, it shouldn't cause too much problems, but if you are running multiple scanns, :whistling: you may see my point.

I have Nvidia Geforce 8200-M series and it only slows a tiny bit when I watch a borg explosion, and thats with multiple windows up, including internet. :D

Oh, and what about your ram?  it shouldn't cause a problem if you have 2+ GB ram, but I guess if you have less(not likely that you do) it could cause some lag i guess *shruggs*

i make sure my scans dont run at the same time and i uslay set em to run when im not on the computer or at least not playing any games.  and i have 2gb of 800mhz ram  ill be getting another 2gb stick within the next couple months

well it should definitely speed up with the more ram.
