Hey everyone,

Seems that no matter what I do, I can't get Fleet Ops to run.  The game simply will not start up.  I have this error message only...

Hope you guys can figure this on out.  Just upgraded my computer, so that could be the issue.  Tested other games and had some problems with them, but found out that Firefox 4.0 beta was the cause, so I reinstalled 3.4.16 and everything is great.  Tried to reinstall Fleet Ops, but still no start!  Hope it is something simple.  I was just getting ready to do some custom maps when the 3.1.4 started giving me problems.  Hope we can sort this stuff out.

Edit:

I have tried everything and still FO will not start up.  FO installs just fine.  FO just will not start up.  Anyone with any suggestions?

Thanks for responding.

I am not a noob to the install process, or comatibility.  I have tried just about everything I can think of.  Your suggestion is greatly appreciated however.  The above error log is all I have as to the clue of the problem.  I have now put my specs into my signature.  Hope that helps.

Could you attach the whole error log, instead of just an extract? Lots of useful info has been cut out.

Hi Mega,

That is all I get when I try to start.  I see no error log when I start it up.  Let me know where the error log is specifically, and I will look for it, but I didn't see anything.  I got this log from Windows.

Oh, I thought it part of one of the error logs that FO generates. Not sure then, hopefully one of the devs will see this topic

Ya,

Thanks for the help.  This does seem weird.  It ran on this OS in 3.1.4 but I had problems with the map editor (I want to start creating, and sharing some maps).  Anyway, hope someone can figure this out.  Seems to be the executable.  It says "APPCRASH" and names the exec.  Maybe, something I can set somewhere.  I have full authorization in the settings.  That would be the only thing I can think of causing this.  Anyway, hope to play this baby soon, and start some map edit tests.  Got some cool ideas.

Update:

Armada 2 runs just fine.  Still no start up with 3.1.5  Just don't know what is causing this problem.  I hope the next release will run.  Don't know why I am having this problem and no one else seems to be having this problem.  Any suggestions from the dev's would be greatly appreciated.

I hate to say but "Thanks" for having the same problem.  :(

Funny thing is that the original Armada 2 works just fine.  Do you have Windows 7 x64 Ultimate?  I am thinking something happened to the executable.  They said they had made FO better and more stable for Windows 7, but now I can not even launch the game.  Also, do you get the Windows error message?  Does it have the same "APP CRASH" error I posted?  Let me know.

The original Armada 2 does not work for me either. I get the "not enough memory" error  :(

Yes I have Win 7 Ultimate 64 Bit as well and I also get the "APP CRASH" error when I try to play!

It does sound like the same issue.  But, I can run Armada 2.  Armada 2 runs just fine.  How much memory (RAM) do you have?  You might need to get a bit more.  Win 7 x64 Ultimate needs at least 4 gigs to be safe.  They say Win 7 x64 Ult. uses anywhere from 1.5 gig to 2.5 gigs of RAM.  You may need to upgrade.  Just a suggestion.

Hmmm,

I use compatibility mode for A2 and it runs fine.  But we have the same issue for FO 3.1.5.  So lets hope one of the devs see this and address it.  I hope others will post if they have this problem or know of a work around for it.

I am anxious to create some maps!  The planets and the suns look awesome in th3 3.1.4!  Just being as patient as I can...................
