How do you go about adding an exception for this? Ive done a search on my computer for WindowBlinds and cant seem to find anything? Help?  :crybaby:

if you don't use WindowBlinds, then you probably experience a different error.

try to delete your game settings
You can find your fleet operations settings folder under XP
C:Documents and SettingsApplication DataStar Trek Armada II Fleet Operations
or Vista/7
C:UsersAppDataRoamingStar Trek Armada II Fleet Operations

note that these folders may be hidden in the default configuration of Windows.

these folder can also be reached by Start->Run and copy&paste the following:
%APPDATA%Star Trek Armada II Fleet Operations

Ive done the above and it still wont work. I even deleted the full Fleet Ops folder you indicated above and still nothing. It was FOdata or Logs and I deleted both.

Still doesnt work  :crybaby:  :crybaby:  :crybaby:

I think at this point, you may need to give us your specs.  Also tell us what other software you are running.  Like, anti virus software and any RTS software running in the back ground, as well as what version of windows do you have.  Giving the devs as much info as you can will get this resolved.

Well it was indeed windowblinds, cant believe that would have stopped it from playing. Sure enough as soon as I unloaded it, the game works!!  :woot:

Thanks for looking into this and solving the strange problem

You do not have to "delete" Windowblinds to play FO.  Just set the desktop to the regular windows theme, and all should work.  I simply switch between the 2 and it works for me.  Hope this helps.

setting an exception for armada2.exe (data directory) in the windowblinds options is enough. then windowblinds doesn't try to theme fleet operations. you don't have to disable windowblinds entirely.

Yet, another great idea.  Perhaps you could add this to "known bugs" with the work around information for it as well.

I have just added this item to the FAQ on the guide - I hope that provides some small way for some to find this solution :)
