Lol Stardust had told me that he was still learning but was better with Borg than with a few other races so I did not cut him too much slack.  He asked yesterday that we play some games so he could see where he was getting beaten and how.

From this game he took away the idea that expanding so soon was not necessary for Borg on a tiny map and that splitting his Assimilator's against an already established fleet was a mistake.

Also he learned that the current Klingon's still have an Ace up their sleeve against Borg :P

And yes...  He stole a couple of my Susa's ... but I stole them back later :D

Woot! :woot: Talk about strength, the strategy of the devs is undenyable. (Obviously they plan the entire game before they even join it...) I'm pretty sure one of them could beat Data!

Did you even watch the game Gamer? The Devs don't play many full games, which explains why Baron and I were able to bottle up Doca and Optec pretty well... Zebh was also brand new at the time, and he was pretty good at holding his own (well, up until Doca and Detektor made a break for his base) :) . On the whole, interesting strategies were implemented - don't get me wrong - but it could have been much more challenging

As far as I knew he was brand new - what I didn't realize was that he didn't want to play as Borg  :(

Next time we have an Opti versus Assim match I think it would be best if I chose Opti, as it is more difficult to play as that Avatar in that sort of match. Assim gets all the easy stuff  :sweatdrop:

You know, I feel that Opti may be out-produced by an Assim avatar and have difficulty bringing the Assims within range of spheres, but I could see that matchup as being an excellent chance to utilize a sphere with a holding beam.

1 level of a holding beam would allow the pinning down of an assim until the other spheres can crash the party too.  Regenerating spheres should likely hold up plenty long against Assims and be repaired for combat much faster than waiting for your assims to regen.

Would be an interesting start if you could hold out long enough against the tide of Assimilators.

156?  what is he Vulcan?

no, he is just a young whipper snapper, who cant play real people to save his own arse.  he can sometimes whip up on the computer though IF it isn't set to Merciless  :'(

Spheres will fail hard. Reaaaaally hard. They just come too late (you'd be facing two Assims when you have one Sphere) and they will take all torp damage, not to mention a serious shortage of firepower and defensive capabilities. Assims are quite superior. :sweatdrop:

Trust me, Adaptors or Scout Cubes + Probes are your only hope, Obi Wan ( :shifty:)

:D Nice one Bale :)

There's no need to belittle him, man.  You wouldn't like it if your game was recorded and everyone on the forums said "He sucks, har har!" :(  If I'm missing something, let me know.

It took Dom and I weeks of playing borg to even figure out how Optimize has a change against Assimilate, and then we found assimilate has a strong counter to that as well.  So cut the new guy some slack.  For being new, he adapted well to Dom's suggestions, even better than most players who play regularly.  Once Dom won that first encounter, it was all over, because that's how Borg gameplay is.  It's very unforgiving after the first battle.

What I want to know is why there were tons of observers.  Everyone could have had a nice 3v3 game or something.

Edit:  Dom just explained to me who John Doe is, so I'll leave my first statement up, since it's full of irony.  You did well overall, Bale!

Lol and the truth comes out ! :D

So Spheres fail hard, huh?  Figured they might have some chance given they are a little hardier than Assims.  Do Adaptors really manage well against them?  I feel it's difficult to get Adaptors really working on anything.

I believe you.  I hate playing Borg and I hate even more playing AGAINST Borg so I have no legs to stand on.

Boggz with no legs. --->  :wheelchair:

:kid:  <--- Boggz loving the wheelchair smiley.
